Dakota Feeding Company (DFC) is one of South Dakota s largest cattle feeding facilities and located in the heart of some of the best cattle and grain production in the United States. Originally built in 1972, DFC is conveniently located 5 miles east of the city of Onida, South Dakota. Onida is home to Ringneck Energy & Feed, supplying the operation with distillers grain, as well as Oahe & CHS grain elevators, and local grain producers to supply the remaining feed base. Access to multiple sale barns and beef processing plants makes DFC a prime location. Owner states the outdoor capacity is 18,000-20,000 head and is currently permitted at 15,000 head with the State. The 108 x1,000 confinement barn could be utilized for an additional 1,500-2,000 head of calves, or 10,000 lambs.
